I'm fairly sure "Blow-Up" was my first awareness of Herbie Hancock. Probably saw it at an art house when I was a teen? But of course, I was also an avid MTV watcher…

I remember Blow Out. I was 18 when it was released
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
ultradamno:

There's a great story in the supplementals of the Blow Up Criterion disc about how Antonioni wanted The Who (because he really just wanted a scene with instrument smashing) but The Yardbirds' manager got to him saying they were one's who started it (they hadn't and Beck was loathe to do it even for the movie) while simultaneously encouraging The Who's management to press for more money....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
Mx. Baba Bee (e/they):

…was just reading a funny story about the Jeff Beck group recording for the GTO's, in Miss Mercy's marvelous memoir!
  8:32pm
Androu B.:

I remember Herbie's guest appearance on Sesame Street. I wasn't quite a fan of jazz at such a young age. But I grew up watching so many of the musical guests that appeared on that program. I especially remember Stevie Wonder's performance, the most unforgettable among all the ones I've seen.
