View Uncle Michael's profile |
Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

And I've found that a well-tuned networked digital transport (like one of the *Rendu series from Sonore) sounds better to my ears than any physical disc spinner I've had.

I'm due for a major system overhaul-using a decaying Oppo low level DVD player for disc spinning, need something to spin the discs. Have another friend using a Bricasti M1-it's a bit of a stretch, but I heard it at his house, man...(on the other hand, the rest of his system is commensurate to the DAC).
I've heard about the Cambridge, though I'm a bit hesitant to get something that doesn't play SACD (not that I have a ton of those).
And network digital transport just has me totally befuddled; making due with an old Logitech Squeezebox Touch for streaming the Drummer Stream.

Jeff-I never got a home network going here-at one point I did have the Squeezebox stream from an external hard drive, but when that drive died, I never got the home network going again. Looking into NAS these days as well.

The LP12 is one of those amazing examples of continual refinement, like the Porsche 911 series.

I'm not at the fully loaded-had gone for the now discontinued Ittok arm back in the day, and a Lyra Delos cartridge when I did my las LP12 upgrade about 5 years ago.
