But better than that my childhood friend Brian,(Kid Congo) and I saw The Tubes the first time they played L.A. at The Roxy on Sunset. It was wild beyond belief. Later, Brian would join The Cramps when Bryan Gregory was kicked out. I saw his premier with the band at The Roxy where we had seen so many bands together as young rocking fools.

He lived betwixt 26-27 in an SRO on Mission above a Men's Tuxedo renting/buying place with a Neon sign that made noise 24/7 in the window ... He was insane (closeted gay Irishman who went to the gym all day???).. He had Thousands upon Thousands of dollars hidden in his suit jacket pockets ... I stole hundreds each week (not proud .. just 14) .. walked the city buying weed and records .. shows at the Fillmore (I had awake ID making me 18 ... sadly 21 was the drinking age) ... and, sadly Loggins&Messina and Jimmy Buffet at the Berkeley Greek Theatre in 1975
