Favoriting Cratedigger's Lung with Rich In Washington: Playlist from March 11, 2022 Favoriting

Rich in Washington's avatar View Rich in Washington's profile Favoriting

A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Bush Tetras - "Rhythm and Paranoia: The Best of Bush Tetras" - 2-CD and book set for only a $20 donation???? Man, that's crazy! It's cheaper than buying it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
joe:

I know that WFMU needs money. I know that Sheena's Jungle room in particular needs funds to buy fruity la la air fresheners to over come the damp smell down here in the basement of the already subterranean compound that is WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
ironybread:

Absolutely true, Mr. Fab! Who will be the lucky winner???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm
Kat in Chicago:

Oh heck, I'm already swagged but I'll throw in $20 for a chance at Bush Tetras
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
Rich in Washington:

OK Kat! Are you claiming it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm

Comps are a superior entertainment value! Because it's someone's mix tape, meaning someone put some thought into it, like a good radio show (mind you, a GOOD radio show, like Rich's)

I keep hearing pledgers from asheville, but i've never seen another fmu t-shirt, sticker, or met another fmu listener here. I " know" a couple from the chats, and have intentionally met chukamok, but no in the wild wfmu spottings here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm

I've never met a WFMU listener in Chicago via t-shirt, although I met Ira Kaplan at the Hideout years ago because he saw me wearing one

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
Kat in Chicago:

I have so many stickers, a few are on my DJ laptop but I don't know what to do with the rest of them so they're in a shoebox
  8:33pm
asheville jon:

I hear ya Kat, but ashevill is a lot smaller than chicago. I'd just think the percentages of a random sighting would be better here.
Stole a bumper sticker? Wow, that's lame. I'd be reall bummed and pissed if someone stole mine
Avatar 8:35pm
Mr Fab:

Kat, maybe you could drop 'em off at a bookstore, record store, etc. Do you ever DJ out? You could give 'em away there.

Derek Westerholm:

Been dropping in and out all show... Loved the beginning & thought "man, I keep meaning to investigate Clock DVA further" then realized you were playing the one song by them I have, since I also have the Hicks From The Sticks comp... I always find that fascinating, to get super excited to hear something new to your ears and brain, then realize you actually own it in your collection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm

Avatar 10:30pm

Ultradammo, true! Now that I think about it, there really weren’t many Paisley Underground comps, apart from “Rainy Day.” On the Trouser Press message board we were making our own best-of lists. Hello, record labels..?

I saw Debt of Nature open for Wall of Voodoo c.’83. They were roundly booed.

Speaking of Mr Bolles, apart from The Germs, his band Vox Pop is on this comp.
