Interesting building, that former Grosser Sendesaal des NDR Funkhauses, Hamburg. It has an impressive modernist façade that would perhaps lead you not to guess that it was once the primary edifice of the Israelitischer Tempel of Hamburg (which back in the 19th century the largest reformist congregation in the world, though at that time it had a different location, in the Hamburg Neustadt). After the war it was rented and the purchased outright from the Jewish Trust Corporation by NDR. I must have gone by it on my bike several times without a clue as to its history, back in my Hamburg days ...

I can't find ANYTHING on this film, DJpeterDE. All I have is the music, and I'm cruous to know more about it. Jane Ira Bloom was commissioned by NASA much later to do some music for them, and here she is on this piece. I don't know how it all fits together.

  1:07pm
RFS:

Is this the movie? Dec. 26, 1984, Variety magazine: "Ucho Kara No Kikan" (Return From Space) is one of the domestically originated pics to be released by Toho-Towa in May. Produced by Mataichiro Yamamoto's Tokyo-based Filmlink Corp., in conjunction with Theodore Thomas Prods. of Los Angeles, pic is a semi-docu about life in outer space.

"Ucho Kara" alternates new footage of astronaut interviews with stock footage photographed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The pic has a fictional overlay, however, since it's based on a novel by Tachibano Takashi.

@Mx. Baba Bee, It's true, the Board of Pataphysicians stripped me of my license, and forbade me to practice in n-dimensional space. I'm better off, tbh. Three dimensions are all I can handle.

In fact, 'I was Davis McMackerel' is the going to be the title of my autobiography.

The odds are incalcuable without the aid of an n-dimensional slide rule, Herr Stork, and I lost that with my pataphysician's license.

Great line up to see and hear, Snake, for sure. I don't think I've ever seen Davis live.
