I once urinated next to David Johansen at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence. That concludes my encounters with New York Dolls.

I once saw the New York Dolls at the Detroit Food Fest in the early 200s. David Johansen pointed to Detroit Mercy Hospital in the skyline and dedicated Pills to the fine nurses who worked there.

@Handy, Lupo's provided many magical moments. Ramones used to play there for two bucks. All the bands would stop in Providence while going to and from New York and Boston.

@ChukAmok, I used to play at Baby Head which evolved from Rocket, where my ex-wife and I opened for GG Allin, because we were the opposite of GG Allin. 1987.

I think I saw the Make-Up at Lupo's? I lived in Providence one summer in the midninteties. Can't remember what all I saw there now. Records from that era are, er, spotty at best!

@Woo That's awesome! I once ran away from school in CT to see Mephiskapheles, The Blue Meanies, and Jiker there.
