With billows and blasts from choirs and orchesters
Buskers and talkers
Big bands and squawkers,
the Stork Club has retained its qualities of decaying elegance and dwindling significance since the late 1950s.

@fred: tough4. Out of the hospital, feeling healthier. finally got my laptop back. Ran out of money thanks to the hospital visits., and still have more tests to run, but even w/ insurance (finally got some) it's costly. "working" at a homeless shelter run by christian community (who interprets the bible literally), so, a lot of right-wing viewpoints spouted. But, I know my Bible, and know how to fit in, and have a room to myself, and just register the guests and the IT side of things in exchange for room and board (w/ a side of Bible studies). I'm not supposed to listen to non xtian music or read non-xtian books, or have a phone or laptop, but, I have my ways.

Apparently they hosted some great American jazzers there after the M.U. ban on musicians from U.S. was lifted in the late 1950s.

Bryars has run The Gavin Bryars Ensemble with his preferred musicians, consisting chiefly of low strings. Now, in addition, this regularly includes his children (2 cellos, piano and double bass)....Bryars .... has a stepdaughter and son.... and two daughters from his first marriage.
My father considered us brothers as his basketball team. Bryars has got an ensemble.
