View Uncle Michael's profile |
Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Listener comments!
Uncle Michael:
There are two ways to make your request. You can either use the form at tinyurl.com... ..., or you can leave voice mail at (201) 204-9350.
If you leave voice mail, please pause after the tone before starting your recording, identify yourself by your WFMU listener name (or first name if you don’t have a listener name), and speak strongly, slowly and clearly. Note that leaving voice mail constitutes permission to use your recording on the show.
Feel free to also leave a Hinky Dinky Time show I.D. If you wish to do so, please pause between your request and your I.D. The format for an I.D. is "This is [listener name] and you're listening to Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael on WFMU's Give the Drummer Radio." You can get more creative if you’d like, but please include that information.
Thanks!

Saw him in 2012 at the Town Hall in Manhattan when he was doing the Duke Ellington repertoire. Him and the band were tight. The absolute best in musicianship.

When they did "Is She Really Going Out With Him", the bass player (not Graham Maby) did the riff on a tuba, Joe was on accordion and the other band members played assorted non-rock instruments
