I saved a smoked turkey on Thanksgiving one year. I was making the gravy early in the morning and sure enough, the person in charge of the smoker had made the rookie mistake of putting the bird in the smoker with the giblets (wrapped in plastic) inside. I was so glad I got up early.

I got my turkey recipe from Tom Snyder-
Put the bird inna large roasting pan. Pour in 1 cup of gin, 1 cup of bourbon, 1 cup of vodka and 1 cup of rum. Cook for three hours then throw the carcass in the garbage and drink the gravy.
