had the privilege of seeing James Brown live, twice, and it was incredible. He "plays" the band like an instrument, giving all these signals to the musicians. They might play a song for 10 seconds, another for 10 minutes. Very spontaneous. Then he'd dance a bit, go over and play a keyboard solo, go back to singing..was exhausting to watch! He really was the Hardest Working Man.

The Strip seems to have done a nice job of scrubbing off most classic Vegas history. Downtown still retains a bit of that, plus there's a cool art scene there now too. And the Burlesque Hall of Fame.

Burlesque Hall of Fame is now on Main St, downtown, few blocks west of LV Blvd. I first went there when it was still "Exotic World," out in the middle of the desert.

Atlantic City is a fun destination, definitely not Vegas, but it has its own funky rhythm. Having beach access is a big plus, although that's only for about half the year.

I went to Atlantic City only twice and it was for a convention for video distributors. I worked for a laser disc distributor in the 90s. They were held at the Taj Mahal. Gawd, what an awful place that was.

Georgie Fame is dreamy, IMO. Loved seeing him and the Blue Flames perform on Ready, Steady, Go. The Disney Channel showed RSG in the late 80s. Dave Clark bought the rights to the series and did an intro/outro each week. "Be good" was his catchphrase.
