Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from November 12, 2021 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

I think we can all agree that having upper middle-class + people larping as white trash was certainly a very damaging move to country music, and that we need more songs about dead sisters and dogs. Also, just you know, pop-country really decided to hone in on the worst aspects of pop music after the 1980s. Though, I am a bitter 90s kid who thinks mainstream music really started to struggle as we got into the mid-90s. Some bright exceptions, but I don't think we've pulled out. So, that could just be my tastes showing there.
