I have long desired a classical-oriented show. On WFMU and on the stream. I have always felt that the absence of so-called "classical" music (whatever the hell that is) from the WFMU universe has been a huge flaw in our freeform ointment. Bethany's show has been, whenever it's been on, a balm. And the bomb.

This was in the 1940s. Sheila tells the story of seeing "Charlie Parker and His Re-Boppers" on the jukebox. The track that blew her mind was "Now's the Time."

Trying to get me head around a Cecil Taylor/Sheila Jordan set...
Doug Schulkind:
You are absolutely right about David and Stork, and I adore that they include "classical" in their palette of sound colors.
Also, you should check out Cecil Taylor's early LP "Love For Sale." That will hip you to the possibilities.
