Actually, I'd already heard and loved School's Out, but Kevin Jones turned me on to the whole thing, and I was hooked. We also smoked really bad pot together over the next few years.

I love that clip from the Rolling Stones' Rock and Roll Circus where an early incarnation of Tull (with Tony Iommi on guitar!) were the first band to play. Ian Anderson looked like some crazy street guy, writhing around on one leg in a buttoned-up overcoat, playing his flute. Nice one, coela, lol! His solo career started in the 18th century.
