(Murakami Whywolf))):
I will note that at the beginning of the Betty Boop cartoon "Minnie the Moocher", her parents are depicted as stereotypical (Gentile) Germans pressing Hasenpfeffer on her. True, many German Jews were quite assimilated, but given the cartoons of the time, if her parents were Jewish they surely would have been stereotyped that way, and definitely would not be insisting that she eat non-kosher stewed rabbit….
—and surely the Codger could not be suggesting to us that an animated cartoon might _lie_ to us!

Which one was that? The 'Pluto' stream aggregator ('The streaming aggregator that drags _you_ to Hell!') plays a lot of Betty Boop cartoons, but mostly post-Code, and I think almost all or all of them from the television repackaging, which might not have that one at all.

I beg to differ: I just saw it, and they 0.) had exaggerated German, not Yiddish, accents, adn 1.) insisted that she eat Hasenpfeffer, a rabbit dish religious Jewish parents would not have in their homes.
