I always reserved the cheapest car which was almost never available, so I'd get free upgrades. A couple of times they gave me a Dodge Charger. That thing could sure get out of it's own way.

However, it was the WORST maintained engines I've ever heard. GRRRRRINDINGGGGGG BANGGGGGINGGHGHH SCREEEEEEEECHINGGGGG that poor engine needs someone to rescue it!!

Very reliable but a bit of a rust bucket. Really big boot (trunk). Big enough to drive my friend's 3 piece band (along with their sound engineer if I remember correctly) from Auckland to Hamilton to support the Straitjacket Fits. They all fit (no pun intended), including the drum kit.

Everyone needs to quarantine for 2 weeks when they arrive and there are a limited number of spaces available for that. Actually Bailter Space moved to New York around late 199something. I was able to see them in NYC a couple of times after that. Plus in 1988 at Maxwells, supporting the Bats.

Was good friends with John Halvorsen when the band lived in NYC in the mid-late 90's.. used to help them with their gear.. Lost touch with John once he went back to NZ.. The guys stayed in NYC until they couldn't renew their work visas again.. If I recall they weren't keen on having to leave NYC.. Thanks for bringing back some fond recollections!!

I always reserved the cheapest car which was almost never available, so I'd get free upgrades. A couple of times they gave me a Dodge Charger. That thing could sure get out of it's own way.

Very reliable but a bit of a rust bucket. Really big boot (trunk). Big enough to drive my friend's 3 piece band (along with their sound engineer if I remember correctly) from Auckland to Hamilton to support the Straitjacket Fits. They all fit (no pun intended), including the drum kit.

Everyone needs to quarantine for 2 weeks when they arrive and there are a limited number of spaces available for that. Actually Bailter Space moved to New York around late 199something. I was able to see them in NYC a couple of times after that. Plus in 1988 at Maxwells, supporting the Bats.
