	2:25am coelacanth☯: Ken when i was little my parents were shopping for their first new car,c.1970. my father drove tons of cars, most of which were in no way a consideration. it was a major year for cars too, many changes, revelations. checker lent us a car for several weeks, for free! i loved it but even though all us kids voted for the checker over the boring chevy kingswood wagon, and we far outnumbered the adults, somehow the chevy won. (...and hence the beginning of a vehicular nightmare)

A white 4-door hardtop with a black vinyl roof, fake mag hubcaps and a 283 V-8 with a 2-speed automatic. It was our family car until 1980 when he got a used Buick. I drove the Impala in college.
