Go Braves. Been a die hard fan since 1968. Named my youngest son Henry for Hank Aaron.

Tomahawk chop began in 1992 when Deion Sanders played for the Braves and the fans copied the Florida State Seminoles chant every time Sanders came to the plate. Up until the mid-1980's there was a tepee in the left field bleachers occupied by one Chief Noc-a-homa.

New owners of the commercial property where he has stood as local landmark for decades seem inclined to leave it be, while some Native Americans and area residents say it's a culturally inaccurate hodge-podge caricature that keeps stereotypes alive and ignores impacts and history.
The comments on a newspaper article about it today...are predictable and probably shouldn't have been sampled if I wanted a Friday free of ranty cranks and shut-tight outlooks.

Hugo, that is a hansom pole indeed. Once my girlfriend and I were in Vancouver. While she was sick in bed I went to the Totem Pole Museum at The University of British Columbia. WOW, What a collection! Recently she said she found a totem pole in her garage, and asked me if I wanted it. I was over at her house and forgot it on the front porch. The moment had passed I guess. Nothing more was said about it.
