Maybe it's OK to say, that this morning I loved a new-ish album from a band from Bretagne called Denner it is "Dreamless Tribulations" on Bandcamp -- if y'all like these sounds. . .
Avatar 🦇 6:29pm

ooh will check it out, thanks Miss G. I bought a ton of stuff off BC on Friday but nothing that'll fit this month I don't think
Avatar 6:30pm

I must admit I met Gilles once, he had beautiful photos of Bretagne on FB, and if you speak French (or use a translator) he talks about his years in NYC here songazine.fr...

But where in 1981 did one find all this music? If you were living in a small town, it was damn near impossible.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Something from the Back to the Future soundtrack, then. That narrows things down considerably.
Avatar 6:33pm
Miss G:

C.S. I lived in a rural small town in the late 70s and I used to buy random cutouts at the (was it?) Sam Goody in the next town. Sometimes I heard of them in Creem. I think I got the New York Dolls. . .I got Metal Machine Music.

In Scorseses' Dylan doc - they address Bob stealing someone's WoodyGuthrie records. It was the only way he'd get them !! & George Harrison talking about not being able to get a cup of sugar after the War much less a Rawk record. & now - streams & podcasts like a gushing firehose I struggle to direct...
Adam had the Burundi drums first & all yeah. But like a good Scorpio he resurrected himself !

Julie: Dougie MacLean, "High Flying Seagull."

There was a great Brooklyn band in the mid-00s called Eagle Hawk Falcon Owl, but I don't know that they ever recorded anything.

From R.E.M's Document: "King of Birds" (or "Disturbance at the Heron House"!).
