Nice...I'm still getting used to autumn in the south. Warmer than I'm used to. But I suppose everything's different, everywhere!

Yard stuff today, Eargasm?
  5:10pm
bigplanetnoise:

Apparently so!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
Gina Bacon:

Only when I'm out for exercise...never with sandals!
  5:12pm
bigplanetnoise:

It’s a perfect night for a pizza and a dad-beer, I think.
  🥁 5:12pm
Eargasm!:

Not so much today!! Moving some stuff around to get the rooms ready for the flooring crew!
  🥁 5:12pm
Eargasm!:

I agree,BPN!!!
  5:12pm
bigplanetnoise:

The Flooring Crew. I like it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm

Right now with just sub flooring you could get some great echo on a recording!

I always wanted a band with a pneumatic nailer guy in the lineup.

In the past hour - literally - it feels like Fall to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm
Gina Bacon:

It was kind of sudden here, too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm
Gina Bacon:

It's subtle until it's not, or something.
  5:28pm
bigplanetnoise:

Something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm
Gina Bacon:

Definitely something.
  5:33pm
bigplanetnoise:

It still amazes me that there’s ever-changing, but certain music that you have to hear when the seasons change. Not the obvious “surf music for summer” stuff, but just things that only really make sense to you personally that you suddenly must hear when you feel the change of season. Or something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm
Gina Bacon:

I understand that. Like that Coltrane.
  5:35pm
bigplanetnoise:

Yep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm
Gina Bacon:

Maybe it's sense memory stuff.
  5:36pm
bigplanetnoise:

It really makes no sense on the outside. Inside, even.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm
Gina Bacon:

It's deep, I think.
  🥁 5:39pm
Eargasm!:

I agree, BPN. Music elicits responses for nearly every personal experience. I love there is music I wouldn’t even think of purchasing or playing, but it resonates deeply in a sense of memory or as you said even a seasonal change
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm
Gina Bacon:

When my Dad had really faded away, I played him some of his barbershop stuff....his right hand started strumming along, and he remembered the songs. It was pretty incredible...it goes so deep down!
  5:40pm
bigplanetnoise:

For example, on Easter I usually need to hear “Rat Salad”. Not really. Maybe. No.
  🥁 5:41pm
Eargasm!:

Are you sure it’s not ‘Rat’s Revenge’??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm
Gina Bacon:

Hahaha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm

I'm pretty sure it's not that!

Certain music can become a time marker which brings very deep recollections in this life.. sorry to have missed nearly an entire hour of music and chat with everyone here.. I agree Bob and Gina! You're all so close to my heart!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm
Gina Bacon:

Poor Sturgill ruptured his vocal cords, and won't be able to sing for awhile.

❤️
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm
Julie P.:

That's a shame, Gina! I hope he recovers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm
Gina Bacon:

It sounds pretty serious! But I think he will.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm
Julie P.:

Phil - we've all got a life soundtrack, and certain songs pinpoint certain moments and times. There's music playing in my head most of the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
prguitar:

How awful for Sturgil.. I think with rest and time he'll be ok.. having patience in the healing process is key.. I agree Julie.. same with me.. it's been there as long as I can remember.. what is often surprising is what song.. or musical phrase will come along!

HI Gina and Everyone!!!♥♥♥ sounding so GOOD!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Gina Bacon:

Hi marpay!! Thank you!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Julie P.:

Phil - oh, with lyrics I can usually give you a pertinent phrase for most any situation. I've always loved how songs can speak to the human condition. It's one of the reasons I listen so closely to the words.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
Gina Bacon:

Me too, Julie! Lots of connections there, sometimes.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Gina Bacon:

Hey doctorjazz! Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm
doctorjazz:

Had stuff to say about sing tracks, not too good to post and drive, however...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm
prguitar:

Julie and Gina - I agree!! It is amazing with lyrics! So often there is nothing more appropriate to write or say than a song phrase.. what song I might be singing in my head usually mirrors my state of mind at that moment.. Speaking of Mr. Waits, I really have to pay attention if I'm compelled for whatever reason, to be singing "Cemetery Polka" from Rain Dogs, instead of "River Man" by Nick Drake..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm
Julie P.:

Pedal steel for the feelz!
