William Tyler returns to WFMU to discuss his first film score for director Kelly Reichardt's "First Cow," released on vinyl by Merge Records. In addition to releasing five solo albums as a guitar instrumentalist and his time spent in Lambchop and Silver Jews, William has collaborated with Will Oldham, Bill Frisell, Charlie Louvin, Candi Staton and Mikal Cronin, amongst many others.

I adore this soundtrack. It’s so beautifully baked in to the film (oily-fried?). Saw the movie twice, and every time I hear the music it just sets me in a mood.
