	5:47pm Jay S.: There was an interview with 1910 Fruitgum Co. on an old local music show on YouTube...the host was trying to compliment them, and the singer was all like, "No, our record is a hit because of marketing, it has nothing to do with talent"

	5:58pm Jay S.: Released three months before the 5th Dimension version. This is great!
	5:59pm Jay S.: From Wikipedia: "The word surry, used frequently in the lyric (e.g. "Surry down to a stoned soul picnic"), is a neologism by Nyro; its meaning is unclear. The verb surry is spelled differently from the noun surrey (an old-time carriage). When asked by producer Charlie Calello what the word meant, Nyro told him, "Oh, it's just a nice word."[5] One possible meaning is that surry is a shortening of "let's hurry."

And all those 45s I never knew existed that Bob plays

	🥁 6:38pm Discotech Underground: I worked in commercial radio for almost twenty years and grew to despise it because it is so formula and so consultant driven. There is no room for expression or expansion, it's all about playing what the consultant says you play. That is why streaming and satellite radio took off...people want more variety and to hear things they have never heard before. That's how FM underground radio was in the 60's and 70's that I remember listening to and loving.

Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

	🥁 6:38pm Discotech Underground: I worked in commercial radio for almost twenty years and grew to despise it because it is so formula and so consultant driven. There is no room for expression or expansion, it's all about playing what the consultant says you play. That is why streaming and satellite radio took off...people want more variety and to hear things they have never heard before. That's how FM underground radio was in the 60's and 70's that I remember listening to and loving.
