I never listened voluntarily to Phil Schaap, but I can hear his voice. I'm not that much of a jazz cat. But I always had enormous respect for who he was and what he did. This one hit me surprisingly hard. Like with Charlie Watts, I sort of thought he's always be there, doing what he did. Like with Charlie Watts, we won't see his like again.
  7:20pm
Lothianman:

Awesome cut! Always loved these guys! They do a fantastic version of "what a girl can't do" written by the hang men originally

@Ira/Annette: the term is "mondegreen." And they're always best if your misheard lyric is better than the actual one. I've got a shitload of 'em.

I've got 3 misheard Dylan lyrics and one misheard Lou Reed one that are so stratospherically better than what they wrote that I'm considering my legal options.

Not lyric related but when I was 8 and heard on the radio that Huey Lewis "sued" Ray Parker Jr. I thought it meant he punched Ray Parker so hard he needed stitches.

@Georgia: Real bummer about Warren Storm, one of the great singing drummers, glad I got to see him a bunch over the years

@Lothianman: I'm not gonna get all the way into this, but note that Robert Johnson was not blind and, though living in the 1920s, made his records in the 30s.
