Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

This kids' programme you mentioned, was it out there already in 1980? Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' got its premiere in a similar show, whatever the reason for that may have been

Number 73 wasn't around in 1980, it was a few years later if memory serves. Joy Division played a cracking version of Love Will Tear Us Apart when they played a show in my home town just before their end (supported by Killing Joke!). I remember seeing the posters around town, but tragically I was just a bit too young to go. Sigh. (The recording of the gig was later included on the Still album).

@Handy: Yes, it's the only thing I play at casinos, though after ~ 2 years forced absence I'm woefully out of practice. Used to run a serious-ass hold'em game during the '00s boom that eventually moved to a guy's basement and 3 (three) tables full of players. To this day I have no idea why we didn't get busted.

Handy Haversack:
I'm fairly out of practice, too, but my friend in Edinburgh had been going to the casino there weekly since he moved in 2015 so is pretty damn sharp. I went once with him in 2019 on a visit and had a profitable evening, though I played super tight. It had been a while since I'd played with strangers, not to mention heavily accented (to my ears) strangers!
The stars at night!

If you (or anyone) ever makes it out to Vegas again, I hugely recommend a visit to Red Rock Canyon or the Springs Preserve. I managed to visit both last trip as well as the Mob Museum, because New Jerseyan. Next trip I hope to hit the Neon Museum and its graveyard.
