Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm

@Handy: Unrelated, but I ordered "Duchamp is my lawyer" and "Wake of crows" over a month ago, and still haven't got them. Brexit seems to blame, because it was cheaper to order through the UK than straight from the US. Looks like that supply route failed for some reason. My bookseller said your place was particularly difficult to order from from here, but he's looking for alternate routes

I read an interview with Jim O'Rourke where he said he didn't like Houses because of D'yer Maker. He didn't get reggae sounds. Get outta here, O'Rourke!

I spent many teenage hours at my friend's house in a cloud of smoke listening to Houses of the Holy. And Dark Side of the Moon and Todd Rundgren's Todd album. It was the seventies.

I sometimes want to say that Zeppelin sucked too but they just didn't, did they?

I bought a used Bettie Serveert CD last week in New Orleans, and I got halfway back to New Jersey before I discovered there was no CD inside!!!! Bummer, totally, dude.

Lol, timFW and Mr. Pumpy!

Houses of the Holy is a great stoner album. "No Quarter" might be my favorite song of theirs.

Hah! Little Dutch pride in Bettie Serveert.

Zeppelin had magick and HUGE drums on their side. How could you not succeed with that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm

Pfft, never mind, that's not on "Houses"!

...it's easy to forget the BritFolk & International influences in Zep...
& the Drummers won't shut up about Bonzo so I'm finally listening to them...

@McGroovey: First time I heard Dark Side of the Moon was in a country school, I was 10 or so, and a substitute teacher brought me and a friend into her room to listen to it. She thought it would give us new perspective. It did, as did an uncle's playing Sandinista after that, as a response to that challenge
