That seems right - Your people are standing in the wind. The lyrics seem patriotic - I hear a lot of "Ya Watani" (oh my country), but I don't know what the context is. Though if this is 1982 Lebanon, there was some shit going down there.

...On one hand thinking - not a shade on the studio version ...but then always - Stones. Yerknow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm

It had just come in with a bunch of other records to the Thrift Store, and not only does it have this record in it, IT HAD A PROGRAM FROM THE EVENT STUFFED INSIDE. $1.50 I paid

The Rollings in Passaic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm

Fantastic! A moment to remember. $1.50. This period for the band is still good IMO...it was still the 70s. It's like Love You Live.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm
Gary:

It's a hotly debated US tour among fans I found out when I started to search the internet to learn more about the recording

Whip is good. Wonder who recorded it & how &tc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
StringOFperils:

I think many people/Stones fans felt they were 'phoning it in' at this point, but held to a more general standard of a band putting on a great show... they were definitely doing it.

Much cooler acoustically to be in a theater, instead of one of those big halls in the Meadowlands. How many fit in the Capitol? Maybe the show was paired with a bigger arena one in the area?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm
Gary:

[Thumbs up icon]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm
Gary:

TDK: This tour apparently focused on small venues and they would like announce it in a record store in the area and all the tix would get bought up -- so my recent reading tells me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
doctorjazz:

Love Beast of Burden!
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:57pm

Wow that's kewl. Did they do that to connect - or to use it to warm up ? Or both...
Avatar 8:58pm

Gary, I recall that. Musta been fun. Big stadium or arena shows often turn me off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm

Pretty great sound on this record, at least on this track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm

I think to connect? Anyway, yeah, I saw them a few years later, early 80s, Oakland Coliseum I think, and it was very different

StringOFperils:

The Rolling Stones Mobile was a kind of technological marvel...at the beginning of the 70s you couldn't really get this kind of control in a live situation, but by the end the decade sound-reinforcement had made huge strides. Even in a huge open-air thing, they sounded great by this time (only saw them in 81...Buffalo...75,000 people...it sounded really good...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03pm
doctorjazz:

Television!!!
Saw them back when they started out, again 2-3 years ago at the Solid Sounds Festival in North Adams, MA (not the same personnel, no Richard Lloyd; loved it anyway).

Capitol in Passaic fit 3,200 according to Wkp.
Avatar 9:06pm
northguineahills:

The studio where my friend worked at on Ave C near Houston was the same on that according to a book I read was the same address Television lived in the late 70s-early 80s.
Avatar 9:07pm

The Residents still had the freakiest cover of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.
Avatar 9:08pm

But Keith had the coolest fuzz sound of '65, man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm
Gary:

I forgot about the Residents version!
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 9:17pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...one of the only Fuzz sounds in '65...but that wouldn't last ! Wow - to have seen Television. By the time they recorded Marquee Moon - they had performed those songs for a while already...good for the album !
