On our drive to the Finger Lakes we listened to a very interesting podcast that many of you may enjoy. It's called Wind of Change (crooked.com...). It’s 1990. The Berlin Wall has just come down. The Soviet Union is on the verge of collapse. A heavy metal band from West Germany, the Scorpions, releases a power ballad, “Wind of Change.” The song becomes the soundtrack to the peaceful revolution sweeping Europe — and one of the biggest rock singles ever. According to some fans, it’s the song that ended the Cold War.
Decades later, New Yorker writer Patrick Radden Keefe hears a rumor from a source: the Scorpions didn’t actually write “Wind of Change.” The CIA did.

LCBD - that’s nuts! I find it hard to believe the CIA has anyone with musical training, unless they’re using music for interrogation purposes ha ha

I usually stay out of this crap, but I have spent three days in tears and am still ripped with grief, and in this case I know very exactly which segment of humanity contributed to that. So I am breaking my normal accu rules and telling you exactly what I think and what the actions you are endorsing have led to for me, personally, and that I very much blame you.
Ike-O:
Krys O.:
Yes, the interference is from WSHU in CT which airs NPR news.

earthwalker, I hope you are reading these comments so that you can see what real radicalism is: it is empathy. Sympathy. The radical ability to put yourself in the place of another and imaginatively identify with them and understand that your personal convenience is not a moral position or an absolute. You are in a network of connection. When you pretend that selfishness is a virtue, you poison the whole thing.
Corey, I very much hope to be in touch soon to let you know we will be able to drive out to MI soon.
