Also bouncing between machines and maybe an Echoplex, an early delay device, or some playback head trickery (but I'm getting into the weeds now).

I also think Foday Musa Suso was living in Chicago for a while

@Alex, you are correct on both. His credits are long and impressive, all while being faithful to his tradition.

Ruth, if you click on the image and enlarge it, you'll see the boxes are labeled with years, they contain my father's pictures of our family, 1938-1971.

For those wondering, Gary's show today (after us) has this title: Take A Chance With Moé: The Aut'chose Experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Gary:

I would say, for the band, "Oat Chose." And for the guy's name "LOOSHee-en Fran-COOR"
  6:33pm
ruth:

I think it's Oat Shose, Quebecois for autre choses (other things)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm
Gary:

Ruth, yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm
Alex In Illinois:

It is actually more of a harp than a Lute. It does not have frets. Each of the 21 strings gives 1 note.

Thanks, Alex. It's such a complicated looking thing.
