We are like water, we tend to follow and seek out the path of least resistance. A 16 year old
Kid can make more $ selling illegal drugs in high school than working part time for minimum wage.
That dynamic is made possible by the policy of prohibition.
Many schools in the bronx look like prisons and kids have to go through metal detectors to get inside the building.
P.S. People with expendable incomes consume the majority of the drugs, not the destitute.

WHY was THE Weekend picked as the super bowl halftime Show? All he sang about was waiting till he got off work to find coke…
He could just go back to any high school in Manhattan or Garden City Long Island, and buy that shit in the bathroom.

Before the collapse of Alcohol prohibition in 1933, the Federal Bureau of Narcotics was created in 1930. The impetus to prohibit other drugs was taken up by committed alcohol prohibitionists..
And here we are now in 2021. Legal Segregation is dead but the Drug War lives… what ever happened to the war on poverty?

Maybe you hate Country. But you probly just hate Corporate Country like you prefer AltRawk to ChartRawk ? There's yer Classic HonkyTonk like Hank Senior & George Jones - & Outlaw starting maybe with Johnny Cash -- & then AltCountry & now people like Sturgil Simpson & Jason Isbell who are great. & of course - take any two genres & there's something inbetween anyway, right ?
Rebecca here on FMU has great vintage HonkyTonk, Fool'sParadise often has great Billy related Musics...

Also the Politics of Country. Like with the civil Rights Act in 1964 LBJ knew he was losing he South for Democrats - similarly liberal Folk parted with conservative Country - & that feeds into the Corporate Nashville Establishment Country there is to this day - is how I think of it. I mean - if you listen to Commercial Country Stations up here - it's been flat-out frightening like FoxNews.
But there are many who refuse to let the U.S.American traditions of Country Music be owned by that faction.
Oh & the Cocaine & Rhinestones podcast on the history of Country is top drawer !
