Fans got to vote on which car would be sponsored and because only nerds were into dogecoin at the time and seemed to be an ironic crowd, one of the least popular drivers (field filler Josh Wise) was the winner. Sponsorship was paid in dogecoin. I believe a typical 1-race full car sponsorship at the time for a back marker was typically less than $5K. If the owner had kept the dogecoin, that one race sponsorship would now be worth tens of millions.

Fans got to vote on which car would be sponsored and because only nerds were into dogecoin at the time and seemed to be an ironic crowd, one of the least popular drivers (field filler Josh Wise) was the winner. Sponsorship was paid in dogecoin. I believe a typical 1-race full car sponsorship at the time for a back marker was typically less than $5K. If the owner had kept the dogecoin, that one race sponsorship would now be worth tens of millions.
