Fuzzy - welcome! Yet another meaning to be derived (that I hadn't thought of) - here's from wiki about Grant's gear/setup:
Green used a Gibson ES-330, then a Gibson L7 with a Gibson McCarty pickguard/pickup, an Epiphone Emperor (with the same pickup) and finally had a custom-built D'Aquisto. According to fellow guitarist George Benson, Grant achieved his tone by turning off the bass and treble settings of his amplifier, and maximizing the midrange. This way he could get his signature punchy, biting tone.

Just had another very brief drop-out. What's happening is the connection to Münster is being dropped and the automated tracks running on the stream move to the front. Impossible to say if the problem is at WFMU's end or with the ISP in Münster.

The automated track is jarring/annoying/confusing when it interrupts the regularly-scheduled programming.

Kessel is just so fast with the chord melodies in the middle of solos, back to runs, etc. Grant plays notes and double stops, and that's about it - ever. When he does comp, he's beauty-full!

Stork, it's Han Solo's (not jazz solo, that's different) boast about the speed of his jalopy, the Millenium Falcon, that it's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs. That's when this green dude (different green) popped up and said, "Ahhhh! Parsec is measure of speed not distance!" so Han shot him, then shot Chewie a look.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm

Galling when people use the term lightyear as a measurement of time : it is the distance light travels in a year. The trap is using velocity to conceive of & convey this relation between time & space. The speed of light in Einsteinian Relativity is a constant - & really effectively removes the barriers between time, space & velocity in orienting ourselves to the Universe... The further away something is as we perceive it - the further back in time from us it is too...
