Is the new schedule up somewhere? I havent tuned in for a week or so, didnt know about changes. What time slot does Daniel have?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am
coelacanth∅:

i glanced at it only. saw Blumin back, but for a 2-hour show.

Fucking stupidity. Blumin needs and deserves a 3-hour show and had a large devoted community every friday night (pre-covhysteria, when the comments boards were rarely so busy) and got dissed at the height of popularity.

I also saw today that Amazon are supporting legalization now and no longer testing for 'some jobs', so there may be a retooling of Techtonic's attitude.

Avatar 12:33am

can disrupt you a bit for sure, a friendly voice at the same time. When Bib Brainen took a break last time it was a real void for me, was listening nearly a long as Ive listened to radio.
Avatar 12:36am
Andrew S:

we have a great community radio stn where I live In Ottawa and many of the DJs have done the same shows for over 25 yrs, some well over. But they've been dropping off the air little by little for various reasons, time being the main one I guess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am

...and some show hosts who often (talking b.c. - everything changed last year) didn't even have 1 post in the comments 'till an hour or 2 into the show stay put year after year.

Does Matt play esoteric music?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08am

We started having sit down shows, with low numbers in the audience, in the second half of 2020. They were still fun, a bit of a novelty, but we were all just happy to BE THERE. A few months ago restrictions eased and we can now stand up and have more people there. But when there are outbreaks (our outbreaks are usually less than 100ppl) we find some shows being cancelled as bands can't travel across state borders etc due to restrictions and quarantine. We are all kinda used to it now. (I am in NSW< Australia)
Avatar 2:08am
Andrew S:

its similar in my province in canada laura, i live on a provincial border, there are checks and theyll ask you where you are going when you cross. But no live shows. Weve screwed it up so many times tht i think theh just arent taking chances anymore until most ppkare vaccinated. I hgeard victoria locked up again but maybe that was a while ago its all white noise to me now

I haven't been to a big show yet, Aitch. Just punk shows. That would have been the real deal....

Yeah, I’m surprised that I actually... like this?!?? Most of the stuff that Conklin played didn’t do it for me at all. Occasionally I’d make a snarky comment and he’d threaten to ban me. 😸

This was a lecture more than a gig, seated, still weird all the people.

(Most of the Dead stuff didn’t do it for me, that is. The rest of his show was 98% sublime, otherwise I wouldn’t have listened in the first place.)

Went the taco place, and just got a place outside by myself (no tacos tonight), and read. met a woman my age, and she had actually been to the Bunker twice (used to dj there).

So Tom you're the man responsible.

drumming is so hypnotic. Damo recorded an album at a tavern here with a local band, was a cool night. Hd the album but sold it

If it weren't for Mooney's damn psychiatrist who knows what would have happened....
