	🦇 3:57pm chris in the redwoods: true, Julie, the vid-vaxes aren't 100% effective at preventing the disease, but considering the normal annual flu vaccines are as much as 65% or so, and these are well into the 85-99% range, its remarkable. not perfect, but miles ahead, it seems, comparatively speaking. science geekiness here, fwiw.

I taught two of my grandnieces how to catch fish, and it was great seeing their faces when they reeled in their first fishes. The local birds put on a nice little show, the weather cooperated (for once).... all in all, a perfect day

	4:27pm Stanloid.: I pass my two-week period after the second jab on Thursday. I am now in the process of considering my 'new' rules. I'm definately going to meet up with other fully vaccinated folk, within our current rules, but given it's summer, I am sure most of these will be outside anyway. Still not ready for mixing with just anyone but I have a wedding in July I cannot miss, which will mean mixing with unvaccinated young people. I'll have to gird my loins for that one.

However, at the weekend I had a DIPA from Other Half Brewing and it was incredible. 10 out of 10. (You can tell Rob, if he's got twelve quid to spare!). Alsio a can of from Equilibrium form Middletown NY. Also very good and only nine quid!

	5:13pm northguineahills: @chris: Portugal, despite being a conservative nation, was the first to decrimiliize drugs in Europe in the early 2000s, and provided treatment for all addicts. There's a vibrant art and music scene there (met many in NYC), and the food and people are awesome. Plus, the history is a big plus (many ruins from the Roman era to the current).

	5:13pm David (in London): Ditto that Stanley. I think the Portuguese must be the loveliest people in Europe. Every I met there was so nice, even in off the beaten track places which weren't driven by the tourist Euro.

And he's got family in NE Spain and had been there a thousand times. "Less fascist than Spain but similar" seems like a powerful place to start.

Avant garde, improv, space musik early, and techno/club music later (four stories w/ ,multiple rooms and a center open area you can see to the ground floor, where they put art installations. I believe it was a 5=7 stations away from Alexanderplatz. There was also a venue on the east side of the River Spree near the Reichstag that was a former DDR bunker under the river. I saw Damo Suzuki there.
	5:57pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: Prenzlauerberg was hideously expensive to live already around 2011 - 13 when I was in Berlin, of course I never could afford a place there. Then again, I had the pleasure of living Kreuzberg for 200-something euros (only the kaltmiete though) per month. It wouldn't surprise me Prenzl'berg or Mitte had become boring. Pricing people out usually goes hand in hand with that.

I'm definately going to meet up with other fully vaccinated folk, within our current rules, but given it's summer, I am sure most of these will be outside anyway. Still not ready for mixing with just anyone but I have a wedding in July I cannot miss, which will mean mixing with unvaccinated young people. I'll have to gird my loins for that one.

There's a vibrant art and music scene there (met many in NYC), and the food and people are awesome. Plus, the history is a big plus (many ruins from the Roman era to the current).

Avant garde, improv, space musik early, and techno/club music later (four stories w/ ,multiple rooms and a center open area you can see to the ground floor, where they put art installations. I believe it was a 5=7 stations away from Alexanderplatz. There was also a venue on the east side of the River Spree near the Reichstag that was a former DDR bunker under the river. I saw Damo Suzuki there.

Then again, I had the pleasure of living Kreuzberg for 200-something euros (only the kaltmiete though) per month. It wouldn't surprise me Prenzl'berg or Mitte had become boring. Pricing people out usually goes hand in hand with that.

Then I got dj tour of Mexico, and met my future partner. I just don't feel comfortable in suburban America. Rural America is fine for the wilderness, if you can avoid people. But, I've found that assholes exist in all ethnicities.

	6:44pm headcleaner: NGH - once I spent a few years living outside the US, and making close friends it was like "that's it - the world is my home now". Just that there are always the realiities of finding jobs, apartments and such wherever you go. So for an ungodly amount of time, I've been stuck in NYC.

	6:46pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: @6:41 Julie: in my case (around late 90s-early 00s) they did not call the town first - a neighbor mowed my lawn, looked in through my window, did not like what he saw and alerted another neighbor who was also the property manager, climaxing in the health officials paying a visit. Their report:"PCC2000 should buy a proper shelf for the books that are now stacked on the floor"... ohhhhh boy. Gotta love suburbia.
	🦇 6:46pm Julie: Ken by the time the inspector showed up (yesterday a holiday!) the contractor had mown it. As long as the house is being worked on he'll be there but hopefully I can set up a regular service. I like long grass though, I need to find out the limit
