Daughter MC & I went up to visit my mom because they're finally allowing visitors at her old folks' home, but only for an hour, so I took Daughter MC on a cultural awareness visit to the House of Guitars. She agreed that it's crazy and amazing. I bought her two Queen CDs.

FYI, there's a pretty rad documentary coming out soon about "folk horror" movies, which (obviously) spends a good deal of time on The Wicker Man! bostonhassle.com...

@Wendy - Dark Days is an excellent documentary about homeless who live in the disused section of the NYC subway system. It is soundtracked by DJ Shadow. It's a really great doc. The people featured are handled with great respect and it's definitely not exploitive.

A shoot off into a different direction people may enjoy sometime later, AFTER Scott time is over:

I heard a freaky-little-girl kind of voice in one of the earlier songs here, I think it was Yaeji / In The Mirror.

I invite you to replay that track when this Scott archive gets posted, then have a listen to the Nicki Minaj track and the immediately following Die Antwoord track in the last full set of this show I did awhile ago – I was kind of chasing that vocal styling.

Besides, I don't think Nicki Minaj has gotten sufficient WFMU airplay. "Majesty" is insanely well crafted and catchy.

Fred MacMurray spots the ankle bracelet on Barbara Stanwyck as she descends the stairs and enters the scene “That’s a honey of an ankle bracelet!” Fred MacMurray’s character has a foot fetish. Billy Wilder may have had a foot fetish. Stanwyck’s feet are photographed alot in that film.

I've started reading Ned Sublette's "The Year Before The Flood" where he really explores his exposure as a child to rhythm and blues, county and early rock'n'roll in the 1950s. The Six Feet Under comp is a great companion to that.
