The New York Rock Ensemble was also one of the bands that changed their name when the 70s hit--they made 3 albums before as the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble. I don't know if they were the best of the Baroque Rock bands of the 60s (I think so), but they were the best trained, being Julliard students.
Avatar 1:10pm
Duane:

mrdonutsu: Yes! That's a great live album..love the opening track "Pain Train"

Duane, I think you'll dig them--with all the ruffled shirts and "lead oboe and rhythm oboe" they were a damn fine rock band.

tim from champaign (now washington):

In the mid 90s I worked in group homes for developmentally disabled adults. My buddy would DJ the Friday night special people dances. By far the most popular jams were "My Girl Wants To Party All The Time" and Kriss Kross's I Missed The Bus.". The dancers would FUNK IT UP doubly hard with I Missed The Bus probably knowing from experience. That's how I feel when I'm late for The Duane Train!
Avatar 1:39pm
Duane:

Passaic River Blues: Awesome! It's from an early slice of queer cinema called "Sticks & Stones". It's an early Gay film..basically just them partying and living it up in Fire Island:)
