I don't know LA too well, but there must be two Derby places. The one I'm thinking of was torn down around 84/85 when I lived there. It's the club that is depicted in the Ed Wood movie where Criswell is hanging out with Elvira and stuff. It looked like a big hat. I should of taken a brick!

Hey kids! To answer some above questions, there were a few Derby’s around town. I remember ‘em in Echo Park, in Beverly Hills, I think one in mid-Wilshire..
And for a few years now Rodney has been on SiriusXM’s Underground Garage channel, Sunday’s 9EST. Totally different from his famous years, but good stuff, lots of contemporary bands I never heard of.

I don’t know if it’s still there but there was a Derby in Koreatown on Wilshire in a strip mall. Obviously, it had been moved from the original location. It was a Thai restaurant and they painted it silver!
