I think this was a first for a whole lot of peeps, outage during a blizzard. There's a lot of people who are from the cold parts of the country who live here and I think they were tripped out, too, that our power grid couldn't handle this kind of cold!

Nice! The Austin of the North.

Drowsy, thanks for the comparison. Rolluh has never been to Austin or TX, for that matter. So, he doesn't know what it's like here ;)

I've only been to Austin once. (Sadly not for SXSW.) I hope to back for the electric car show if they have that again. I left there with four cabbies/Ubers giving me four totally different reasons for why living in Austin is great. 10/10 would move there.

Dang @ARR - that is hilarious. If you get to another borough you've bested Kant at something!

That's cool, Drowsy! I'm from Houston originally and I used to come to SXSW back in the '90's when it was $10 for a wristband and was so small, just a few clubs down on 6th Street.

I lived in Southern California for 14 1/2 years before I moved to Austin, as well. I've been here 7 years next month

Where do you live, Drowsy? It seems like we chatted on here before. Did I remember Portland or up that way?

That is awesome Candy. Wow, you've done the reverse reverse migration. I heard that the cali refugees were legion, but you have title and claim to be there.

I just drank a huge tumbler of coffee and now I'm super sleepy. It doesn't make any sense. Nor do my sustained allergies. Of course I was out pruning back old fronds of sword ferns today, so there's that.

MMM, if I drink coffee and I'm not sleepy when I drink it, it will make me sleepy - opposite effect. I have to be sleepy to drink caffeine. Sounds like you might be the same way.
