and YES! AGREED! re: tipping!
way back in high school, i learned from other kids how they would bust their butts working as wait staff, etc. -- and would get paid sh*t bc their bosses claimed that tips were supposed to make up for the gap between what they were getting paid per hour and minimum wage -- and of course this RARELY happened >:(
in the years since, i have never worked as a server, bar tender, etc. but have ALWAYS tipped beyond the minimum, simply b/c i knew there were total cheap-skates out there
(sex workers get ripped off like crazy too -- i mean, even way back in the 80s, it NEVER made sense to me that some entitled trick would be plunking down $200.00 per hour -- and could not be bothered to tip at least $20.00 -- and these dudes were usually the WORST "clients" . . . passing fake bills was popular too, like some cruel joke)
