	2:37pm Mr Fab: Steve Jones has been an LA radio presence for years actually, hosting his Jonesy's Jukebox show. Odd to walk into a 7/11 to pick up a few groceries and there's Jonesy over the store's PA, but it happened.

	♥ 2:40pm Rich in Washington: I remember our local chain record store having this sort of cordoned off section with a crude handmade cardboard sign PUNK & NEW WAVE, and being scared to go over to it, like it was the porn section of a video store. I finally mustered up the gumption to buy Bollocks. It helped that it was finally on sale for 5.99.
	2:40pm Mr Fab: and Beatles! and Spencer Davis, Graham nash, Lemmy, Billy idol, Morrisey, and others. Guess they like the heat after growing up in foggy ol England.
	2:41pm geezerette: GG, same over here. Punk was sociopolitacal everywhere. As well as sharp and funny in most cases. Total agreement . L.A had an excellent punk scene.

I just remember no one ever ventured over to it and I had this fear that I would be pummeled by feathered haired jocks or rednecks if I even got near it, but I eventually did.

	2:47pm Mr Fab: Yeah! I actually live near Gilliam's old school. My next door neighbor's kids went there. (Birmingham High in Van Nuys.) Wonder if there's any recognition for him there? yes, there's a python who's a VAL! My wife attended UCLA with Cleese's daughter. Said she was a terrible actor.
	♥ 2:48pm Rich in Washington: Then years later, the manager of our local Musicland (later eaten up by Sam Goody) started getting all kinds of UK import records. I was there so often, just looking, rarely buying, that she'd let me take preview records home and if I liked them, I could buy them. The store started going downhill and she was eventually replaced. Thanks for all the records, lady whose name I was too callow to have remembered.

	2:52pm Mr Fab: Weirdly enough, my local public library got all kinds of hip stuff in that I would take home and tape, and bring to school so my friends could tape: Iggy, Bowie, talking Heads, Pil , Pistols, Clash. E Costello... must have had a punk rock librarian.

I just remember no one ever ventured over to it and I had this fear that I would be pummeled by feathered haired jocks or rednecks if I even got near it, but I eventually did.

	2:47pm Mr Fab: Yeah! I actually live near Gilliam's old school. My next door neighbor's kids went there. (Birmingham High in Van Nuys.) Wonder if there's any recognition for him there? yes, there's a python who's a VAL! My wife attended UCLA with Cleese's daughter. Said she was a terrible actor.
	♥ 2:48pm Rich in Washington: Then years later, the manager of our local Musicland (later eaten up by Sam Goody) started getting all kinds of UK import records. I was there so often, just looking, rarely buying, that she'd let me take preview records home and if I liked them, I could buy them. The store started going downhill and she was eventually replaced. Thanks for all the records, lady whose name I was too callow to have remembered.

	2:52pm Mr Fab: Weirdly enough, my local public library got all kinds of hip stuff in that I would take home and tape, and bring to school so my friends could tape: Iggy, Bowie, talking Heads, Pil , Pistols, Clash. E Costello... must have had a punk rock librarian.
