Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 7:50pm chresti:

Evening TDK60, Hi Bas! Smilty! Everybody!
Avatar 7:52pm TDK60:

I saw Le Vent Du Nord last year at Fairport Convention's fest. They really have some verve.
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 7:56pm chresti:

Verve in a good way?
Avatar 7:56pm TDK60:

Hi Chresti on the left coast; Bas in the Lowlands; etc. // Oh Rob, the prize I won on this here show arrived: "Opika Pende, Africa at 78 RPM." What an attractive package.
Avatar 8:01pm TDK60:

chresti: yes, verve in the sense of vigor, enthusiasm. They stood out as one of the more interesting bands due to their zest.
Avatar 8:02pm TDK60:

..don't get me wrong tho… I like melancholy, somber folk too; hehee.
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:06pm chresti:

Did you see many performances there@TDK60?
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:09pm chresti:

show up, music!
Avatar 8:11pm northguineahills:

I don't know if it's your thing Rob, here's an album that draws from the Shijing (the 300 Classic Poems of the Tang), accompanied by classical guitar. Unfortunately, it's in English (Chinese poetry is great, b/c of being a tonal language): poetryxmusic.bandcamp.com...
Avatar 8:11pm TDK60:

chresti- yes, but not all, spent time wandering around. But saw the Levellers, Fairport, Oysterband, Brian Wilson, Al Stewart, etc. unknowns at a camp sidestage.
Avatar 8:15pm northguineahills:

I wish I had one bottle of mezcal...
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:16pm chresti:

Is there an app to have performers come to your town/street/house?
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:21pm chresti:

Those horns!!
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:22pm chresti:

On that other song
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:23pm chresti:

The Downs track-horns-
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm Rob W:

Companies like Sofar sounds kinda do that chresti...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm хtina:

Summerstage is a great way to see incredible talents for free. And best enjoyed with dos botellas de Mezcal, lol
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:26pm chresti:

Oh, right, for parties?
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:29pm chresti:

Need to check out the Santa Monica Pier schedule, I think it's still free
Avatar 8:30pm TDK60:

..have seen a bunch of concerts at Summerstage, many global artists. don't wanna list, as I get carried away with lists.
Avatar 8:33pm northguineahills:

@xtina: I have a high alcohol tolerance, but unless those were very small bottles of mezcal, I'd be in the ER (now, I want some mezcal)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36pm хtina:

@nhg well naturally you'd have to split them with a lot of people but if not botellitas :)
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:37pm chresti:

High alcohol tolerance, how so?
Avatar 8:38pm TDK60:

I wouldn't mind one serving of mescaline. been a while.
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:41pm chresti:

A thimble full. It's been ages, we're not big drinkers.
Avatar 8:45pm northguineahills:

@chresti: My ancestors were Scottish?
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:45pm chresti:

I sampled a shot of absinthe a couple years ago. It wasn't what it was all cracked up to be
Avatar 8:45pm northguineahills:

Now, TDK is talking!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm хtina:

Artemisa absinthum, the 'active ingredient' in absinthe is actually not a hallucinogen, but it does cause seizures at high dosages. You're better off with mescaline right @TDK?
Avatar 8:48pm northguineahills:

(outside of a Dutch women and French Huguenot, all of my ancestry is Scottish except for someone from Essex, and someone from York [told you I was WASP AF{w/o the blue blood}])
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:49pm chresti:

ngh, mine too
Avatar 8:49pm TDK60:

xtina- never tried absinthe! // Rob, it's been a great big paradisiac world musicky show. Thanks!
Avatar 8:51pm northguineahills:

Too bad I can't afford to have a kid w/ my Mexican wife, as my gene pool needs a bit of chlorine.
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:52pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Rob. Another plaisir mondain!
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:53pm chresti:

I think the absinthe available here doesn't have seizure level thujone, or whatever the active element
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:55pm chresti:

-it has a lot of proof tho.
thanks ROB W!
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:57pm Bas NL:

Thanks Rob! Great music on a warm evening!
Avatar 🌍 Swag For Life Member 8:58pm chresti:

I'd like to have an absinthe plant, it repels insects
Avatar 8:59pm northguineahills:

I used to do absinthe at a certain monthly Brooklyn party, after a few shots, once, me and my female friend could just slump in seat together for about 30 minutes. The legal kind, today, just feels like weak liquor.
