...And if that wasn't enough, right down the street from my place was the Pacific Asia Museum that had the most amazing collection...AND just down the street from that is the Norton Simon Museum which has a ginormus collection of ancient Buddas, Shivas,ect,ect. Franco, have you been to the Buddhist temple in Hacienda Heights? Off Hacienda near Colima a little south of the 60. Haven't been there in a while but I remember it being cool. Traditional Chinese architecture in tract-home stucco with a pretty cool little museum of it's own.

Jake, I'm working on it. They're breeding in my flower pot fish pond. Normally the goldfish (singular) keeps them in check but there are lily pads now and I think the fish can't get to them. I covered it with a scrap of window screen this morning. We'll see if that takes care of the problem.

A few weeks ago I was suddenly seized by a desire to read the Wikipedia article on Tamerlane, a person known for leaving pyramids or towers of skulls where ever he went.
In June of 1941 the Russian anthropologist Gerasimov exhumed his bones and skull to do a reconstruction of his face and create a portrait bust of him. It is said by some that this released a curse on the world that was responsible for the kerfuffle between the Soviet Union and Germany in the early 1940's.

I just walked past that place last week when I went to see the Magritte show at SFMOMA. BTW that block of Market Street has more mentally disturbed people spinning around than any other part of the city...except the Tenderloin, which is seriously off the meter.
