Listener comments!

  3:21pm Last White Rhino:

Hey Bill,
Happy rainy Memorial Day weekend.
  3:53pm National Geographic Teenagers:

"White rhino" originates from the German "weit," meaning wide, as in wide mouth indicative of its feeding habits, i.e. they’re grazers, whereas black rhino are foliage chewing browsers and have a prehensile lip. Northern white rhinos, numbering 2 females, are smaller 1400-1600 kg (adult male), have a straight back, flat skull, with no grooves between ribs, have hairier ears and tails, and a shorter front horn. Southern white rhinos, numbering 20,000, are larger 2000-2400 kg (adult male), have a concave back, prominent shoulder hump, concave skull, sometimes with distinct vertical grooves between ribs, more body hair, and longer front horn.
  4:02pm Last White Rhino:

Yes I do have hairy ears and I'm proud of my horn.
Avatar 4:10pm OfficerDowney:

it's been 90sF & not a cloud in the sky since Fri in Chicago area. supposed to be 95 tomorrow.
  4:19pm Last White Rhino:

@OfficerDowney: Yesterday in northern NJ it was 92F and right now it's 63F. Hope Chicago's weather slides east for tomorrow.
Avatar 4:20pm Mr. Record:

HA! I live 20 miles from Quebec. Perfect
  4:24pm Last White Rhino:

Bonjour, Mr.Record.
  4:27pm Last White Rhino:

My dentist is fantastic with " fill-ins".
  4:27pm Al:

Could have been worse. I was expecting a retirement announcement.
  4:37pm Agent Peter:

Guess I'll have more free time on Sundays until September...
  4:39pm Al:

Last time I heard a DJ "make an announcement," it was Vin Scelsa announcing his retirement. He is still missed.
Avatar 4:44pm Sid:

This the definitely the time of year to be in Northern New England or Southern Canada
  4:46pm Al:

Sum-sum-summatime!
Avatar 4:46pm Sid:

Bummer! Heavy withdrawal coming up this summer!
  4:46pm Last White Rhino:

Yeah, summertime has begun !!! Thanks Bill.
Avatar 4:53pm Sid:

Sounds like Fred Schneider's mentor.
  4:55pm mistertom2u:

First Leonard Lopate and now this. My radio rituals are disappearing. Can death be far behind?
Avatar 4:57pm Sid:

Like Lopate? Did I miss something? Was BK involved in shenanigans?
  5:02pm Al:

Bill will not be on the summer schedule. He will be back next week, then back in Sept. You may find him doing fill-ins over the summer.
  7:26pm Bill Kelly:

6/27 and 8/15, 9-midnight, are WFMU appearances that are already established. Cantwaitcantwaitcantwait....
  8:38pm iagainsti:

quoting shakespeare fudge
  10:03am Bill Kelly:

No shenanigans, just station policy.
Avatar 11:30am Sid:

Fair enough. Get some young'ns behind the FM mic in the daylight.
Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Peapeagirl:

Happy Memorial Day to all. I never remember that shoe repair, cleaners... aren't open. I hate that the Teenage Wasteland will have you elsewhere Bill, but I do understand. Great show, I'm ready for my next batch of knee shots now or I'd be dancing!
  7:12pm Al:

Summer schedule is on the website. Last day of the schedule is Sept. 10, so I hope TW is back on Sept. 17.
  7:50pm the masked fact checker:

Gary Williams' California Suns released "Masked Grandma" June 1966, not your assumed 1964 of "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena." It was written by "To Know Him is to Love Him" singer Carol Connors of Phil Spector's Teddy Bears, and Roger Christian, of many Jan & Dean, and Beach Boy collaborations. Jan Berry's car accident detoured its recording to the Suns, using the same "Pasadena" studio musicians Hal Blaine and Leon Russell, plus Glen Campbell.
