Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Hello, Fred. I think you once told us you had seen Bertucci over there yes?

Hi David!
I did a nice drone-y performance on Monday in Poughkeepsie.

Webhamster Henry:

Hi Ruth, I know you are out there somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
david w:

Hey NGH and Henry (Ruth is working on her NYSCA grant today to keep the Outpost alive). But I've got some twisty twirly drones for you today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm
fred:

@David: Yeah, I saw her twice, pretty different sets too, both great. And I just heard she'll be back in Paris next month. I hope I'll be able to go
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
northguineahills:

I think it was last month when I texted Lea that you played one her sets. She was glad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm
david w:

I think I played one set of hers over a year ago, from the series curated by Greg Fox. But since then?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm
northguineahills:

I believe so, unless it was someone else on GTDS steam (which is possible).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm
fred:

@NGH: that does ring a bell (pun intended) maybe it was something she curated or it wasn't a solo set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
david w:

Actually, I think so too. I have played sets from her curatorial stuff at Pioneer Works and Knockdown.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm
northguineahills:

Not familiar w Mario Diaz de Leon. I dig!

Hi all, enjoying the sounds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm

This is phenomenologically beyond my usual verbiage.

Welcome Ivan, glad to have you on!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm
fred:

How convenient for me to be home today when I'm halfway through a week when I'll see 6 shows in 5 days (dance + concerts). This show is almost worth a live one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm
david w:

Gotcha Fred! It is as close as you can get, I guess, to being there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm
northguineahills:

Live it up Fred! (I went a year w/o seeing a single live show, now, I see 1-2 a week now that I have the means to).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
northguineahills:

Joe just finessed my hodgepodge pledges and S4L less then an hour ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
steveo:

say, anyone have the weather forecast?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm
fred:

The guy who curates the shows where Lea B. played and will play in Paris uses tapes when he plays. I guess he'd be interested in a "Tape Music Center"
  4:52pm
Chris LiButti:

Do people really not usually listen to part 2? It's clearly the better one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm
david w:

@Fred, there is a definite uptick not just in cassette collecting and new releases, but use of tape in performance. Onstage!

Praise the lord! Or is the Lord being auctioned here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm
david w:

heinseng you darlings!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm
fred:

@heinseng: "Appraise the lord" would fit Prof. Dum Dum's show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm
david w:

@Chris, couple things. Part 2 is over-the-top intense obviously, and Part 1 is an easier example of the method/process and as subject of ridicule (he's just repeating the same thing!)
  4:56pm
Chris LiButti:

Aaaah, gotcha. Fond memories of playing this for the first time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm
steveo:

astounding! thanks for the show.

Here, on the stream, comes: "Allowing the past to carry me (Unopened packages)", a dreamy, hypnotic, philosophical, monologic classic unearthed sound collage. Come over here! wfmu.org...

Thanks as usual, David. I hope Ruth will convince the council to cough up enough needed dough

Yeah, everybody in New York is relieved to be past the deadline today and they are all half drunk by now. thanks Fred and y'all!
