Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Stanley:

dutchtheo, I'm on your side and taken the afternoon off.
So pappy fizzy African lager it is for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Doug Schulkind:

@Dean
It is a fine collection. 10 CDs, yes? It covers only a brief period of time, late fifties to early sixties. A fine period, but only one portion of Yusef's glorious life in music.
  11:35am Dean:

Super, thanks. Yes, ten disks, 1957-61. Not sure how much it overlaps with two "complete" sets ranging from '57-'62.
  11:35am frenchee:

Love the Rota! oh yes, the Rota.
Avatar 11:37am Lewis:

Damn - I would have bet this was Ray Charles...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:37am Brian in UK:

@Tiago from Portugal, where are you in Portugal?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Doug Schulkind:

@Dean
I bet it overlaps a good bit. That period covers most of Yusef's recordings for the Savoy label.

@frenchee
I always feel a little shame talking over Mr. Rota
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:39am dutchtheo:

Stanley here starts the carnival, only ordinary draft beer until fat tuesday for me, cheers!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:39am Brian in UK:

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:39am listener Rey:

off topic, but I ordered that Sonny Clark reissue you played a couple weeks back. now just have to block time in my schedule for an uninterrupted headphone session
Avatar 11:40am Lewis:

@listener Rey: that block of time can be oh so elusive...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Doug Schulkind:

@Brian in UK
Thank you!

@listener Rey
Headphones is a good call. Many riches to be accessed in that manner of listening.
Avatar 11:42am still b/p:

Impossible impossible for me to hear the Rota track without seeing Chaplin doing his cafe number to the music Rota later used....originally by a fella named Daniderff.

Yay! I listened to some in stereo. Usually I'm moving around too much for the headphones, & internal speaker's mono.
