Saw Joe Bataan completely slay live this summer (he even did a cover of Rufus/Chaka's "Ain't Nobody"!), and then immediately hunted down a copy of "AfroFilipino".

Does the amazing peach wine that my father-in-law's friend Sterch used to make and bring over in a Mason jar count as natural?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Kat in Chicago:

I'm more of a beer person, not sure I'd know the difference. Cecile, I reckon so.
Avatar 12:58pm
Duane:

My wife is a natural wine expert, she was the F & B director for a big farm to table Restaurant in Williamsburg. She's deep in that scene & has beenhelping me navigate through it. We were at a mead bar in Bushwick last SUnday:) Delicious!
Avatar 12:58pm
Cecile:

I'm good with the difference in beers. The best wine is the one someone buys for me at any given time.
Avatar 12:59pm
Cecile:

They make some great mead in Wisconsin. Some of it's sweet, but the best isn't.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm

Duane, you're making nostalgic for my old hood... Gainesville is great, but it ain't no Bushwick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
Kat in Chicago:

I haven't had a lot of mead, but someone took me to B. Nektar's taproom on a Detroit visit and I liked some of that. I had expected everything to be cloyingly sweet but that wasn't the case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm

Hugh Masekela... check Carl Craig...check pure beauty....check!
Avatar 1:06pm

Mead making has gotten better. IME it was either sickeningly sweet or kind of bitter and waxy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm
Kat in Chicago:

That's a cool specialty for Mrs.Train to be involved with, Duane :) I should be back in Bushwick this spring, if not sooner, and I'll find that mead bar and check it out.
