Saw him live many times (later on, of course), was always great to see him. Still think he was great (even though, or maybe because, he also thought about the entertainment aspect of performance)

The grid is basically three tiers and there's racing within those tiers but not between them. I don't recall a time when 2-3 teams didn't dominate. As long as it's not one, I'm fine with it. That happens sometimes and it's boring.

(of course, lots of beboppers then idolized Bird and institionalized lots of the innovations, leading to another "revolt" in the 50s. And this stuff is never really all that linear, but it's a useful framework for me...).

The grid is basically three tiers and there's racing within those tiers but not between them. I don't recall a time when 2-3 teams didn't dominate. As long as it's not one, I'm fine with it. That happens sometimes and it's boring.

(of course, lots of beboppers then idolized Bird and institionalized lots of the innovations, leading to another "revolt" in the 50s. And this stuff is never really all that linear, but it's a useful framework for me...).
