Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

(forgot, I'll be out of town, but should be great to see).

Hey folks, welcome.

weinstein:

This is a rare free set with Jon Gibson, of Philip Glass ensemble, whose own work is worth following.

melinda:

hi everyone.

northguineahills:

I've didn't know Jon Gibson was still performing, I've never seen him listed anywhere when I was in NYC.

fred:

Good afternoon David, Ruth, and all. Sorry (for myself) I missed the beginning. I left work late, and had to bring some work home to boot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm
weinstein:

Just glad to have familiar voices in mix!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
fred:

That was nice indeed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm
weinstein:

It's so gentle, I wan't sure if they were being tentative or deeply thoughtful. But it works nicely in the recording.

listener james from westwood:

Diggin' the 'dove. Lewandowski's lovely in this set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm
fred:

Agreed. If this is going to be quieter show, I don't mind that at all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm
weinstein:

I think it is a gentle show, the next set (with Che Chen and Daniel Carter and gang) is a kind of droney jam. Hmmm.

Webhamster Henry:

Now you're playing my song!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:00pm
Webhamster Henry:

Almost literally! I was jamming on Otamatone with my daughter (on Omnichord).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm
fred:

You played a set featuring David Watson and you'll play one with Che Chen? So it's also a show where the regular curators play
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm
weinstein:

Yeah we give them a moment now and then, and they've earned it both onstage and off...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm
fred:

I only saw each once. Watson playing a solo bagpipes set over a David Linton video, and Che Chen with 75 dollar bill. Not enough
Avatar 4:14pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Sorry to have missed David Watson. Hi all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm
weinstein:

They are both fearless experimenters, but both would probably rather describe it as curiosity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
weinstein:

I think I have a good track today to lead into the Last Ever, and it is a nice weekly exercise that I am enjoying...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
northguineahills:

Daniel is always a true joy. Haven't run into Barry in ages.
Avatar 4:18pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It's been great! If only we could fade...

I've seen Daniel Carter, not the rest but enjoying the music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm
weinstein:

There's a little Alice Coltrane in here yes?

This Haynes is great!
