@Melinda: Years ago, I found a 50s era record entitled, "Songs of the Maori". It showed the Maori in traditional dress on the cover. The whole record was nothing Methodist hymns sung in Maori. I was a little bit disappointed as I grew up Methodist, and had those songs drilled into my head, well, what's "authentic" anyways?

@ngh maybe if you know the actual hymns it's less interesting. I don't recognize actual tunes, it's more that the style is familiar. The first time I heard something like this it was on an album of music from the Pacific Islands.
