Good morning Jeff and fellow Outliers.

It is snowing quite heavily in Western Toronto and I am not quite sure what my first move should be.

Any advice to that end would be appreciated.

@Jeff - I'm half way through my lazy Sunday: breakfast, coffee, personal emails and WFMU, then made bread. Put into rise, then thought to get dressed. Got serious for a short while and cleaned out the fridge. If I was lucky, I'd watch a movie in bed on a Sunday afternoon but since this show is on, it's more music, more coffee etc etc. It's cold outside, anyway.

Jeff,

Mark R:

Sometimes you can find those missing tracks like "T.B. Sheets" online, if you have the time to get past the ads and cue it up and all that in the 2 seconds you have between songs and responding to trolls on the comments board. And yes, I concur about this Elizabeth Mitchell track--it's lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am

I appreciate your interest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am
Jeff Golick:

Mark: as someone who typically plays 10+ minute songs, the steps it would take to quickly find a song online and queue it up are more than I'm capable of. I get the cold sweats playing two-minute songs back to back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am
Jeff Golick:

"Melodic yet shrieky" is a lovely phrase.

Right, I figured...please don't put any added stress on your spleen. I can't have that on my conscience.

I owe Scott McDowell so much for his "Hey Cecil" segment that introduced me to Cecil Taylor. His reasoning (pay tribute to the greats while they're alive) was why I got to see Taylor play. This performance had something I couldn't get from records

@fred: agreed on all counts.

Cecil Taylor should have performed with Amiri Baraka, but they did separate sets. Apparently they had an argument just before the show. Still fiery guys in their 70/80s

The "pay tribute while they're still alive" is a foundational concept for me. Scott McDowell is a man of big heart and big ears.
