Sheila... when I'm making mixtapes, I often find myself getting myself into a space where I know I'm going off-track and I just have to stop; otherwise, I know that I'll just have to re-do everything. Hi Sheila, re: that Chocolat song, is that the same Chocolat who performs on the Zofka album "Chocolat"? If so, what happened, did she branch off by herself and go solo or was this before she hooked up with Zofka? Which came first, her work with Zofka or her solo? love her voice! Sorry for my ignorance but I love Zofka and didn't realize he named one of his albums after her. I guess I should just do some research on my own without bothering you. Perhaps a listener knows about her and her affiliations with Zofka? Much appreciated. Happy Holidaze all!

@Michael 98145, no, the Zofka album Chocolat came out in 2008. The singer on his album sounds EXACTLY like Cholocat but her name isn't mentioned on the album which is written completely in French so I can't understand anything. But I'm certain it's the same gal. No biggie, but if you liked that Chocolat track, you'd love Zofka

I thought I invented an acronym today: NARP (Not A Real Problem). There are already several definitions:

Non-athletic regular person; not a jock
Maybe there are some others.

chorus pedals on bass guitar infected many, many cuts in the eighties. Joan Armitradings hits come to mind.

I really like the music of this Geowulf track.

@andrew -- Yes. The Chorus pedal is all over the 80s/90s. It's so characteristic of the sound, and I loved all that music at the time. It's not even that I don't love it anymore... I just don't listen to it a lot anymore, so when I hear it -- and the chorus pedal -- it just reminds me of how long ago it was and I get depressed that I'm old. Or something. :)

I'd heard AOR was album oriented rock. But that was decades ago.

YUP! AOR was Album-Oriented Rock!! It was the awesomest stuff on the local radio you could get!!

Did a quick drive by to hear This Mortal Coil's "Song to the Siren". Thank you for playing it. Liz Fraser....just. Wow. One of the most gorgeousest voices in like, ever.

BTW - is that the deceased former wrestler "Chyna" on Runer's cover? Wow, sure kind of resembles her if not!

X. Sample:

Looking up SAMPLED RECORDS last night it seems the genre was launched but a month earlier than your show-opening Audrey's "DEAR ELVIS" from August 1956, inspired by Buchanan and Goodman's July 1956 genre originator, "The Flying Saucer." Yes, the same Dickie Goodman who oversaturated 1970's radio with these nuisances.

Unfortunately for capitulating "DEAR ELVIS" which destroyed unsold copies in September 1956 to settle, in November 1956 battling Buchanan and Goodman won "THE FLYING SAUCER" lawsuit, opening the door for sampling !
