It's interesting how a facile seeming theme cuts across the history of recorded music and exposes so much more than, as Klein explained, merely songs with numbers in the title. Love, aging, death and eschatology, sex and romance, guns (lots of guns, strangely), absurdism, childhood, female anatomy alongside proto-feminist musings, telephone numerology, etc. Nicely done.
